Ways to Cure Bad Breath If Brushing and Flossing Don’t Work

A little known fact about bad breath (at least among those who do not personally suffer from the problem) is that brushing and flossing actually isn’t enough to put an end to it. Most people do not know this, but for people who suffer from chronic bad breath, it is all too true. I am a chronic bad breath sufferer myself, and I know from experience that brushing and flossing is not the key to getting rid of bad breath.

Most of us who suffer from chronic bad breath first discovered this during childhood, when they were told by other kids that their breath was bad. Your suspicions are usually confirmed by people’s aversions to you, and if you have romantic interests, bad breath can be a very serious problem indeed.

All they tend to do is give the same old rehashed advice; make sure you are brushing after every meal, flossing at night time, and using mouthwash every now and then. Still have a problem? Buy some mints. Not only does this not work, it causes an embarrassing situation when people think that the only reason you have bad breath is that you are dirty or don’t brush your teeth.

Trust me, the reason your friends and family never seem to have to worry about their breath as much as you do has nothing to do with them taking better care of their mouth. The true cause of bad breath is not plaque on your teeth, but a sulfur producing bacteria that finds the climate in your mouth very hospitable.

Sulfur stinks. I don’t mean to be crude, but there’s no better way to put it. Unfortunately, you were simply born with a certain geographic layout and temperature in your mouth which allows this sulfur creating bacteria to thrive.

In order to rid yourself of bad breath forever, you must think outside of the box. We’ve already established that proper oral care alone is not enough to stop these bacteria from flourishing. These bacteria absolutely despise a pH balanced environment. A key component to fighting bad breath will be oxygen.

It would be great if we could wake up in the morning and have fresh breath all day just from brushing our teeth, but we only get one chance on this rock and we may as well play the cards we were dealt. Do not count on brushing and flossing to be enough to cure your bad breath.
