Monitoring Asperger’s Condition
Asperger’s Symptoms display themselves differently in each individual. There are similar symptoms in each individual, but no two people have all the same symptoms. Anyone of any age can suffer from this condition it does usually begin in childhood although sometimes Aspergers syndrome gets misdiagnosed. Very intelligent people have been born with this condition and famous people like Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock KBE had this condition as well as people like Michael Edward Palin and more. It is actually quite a common disorder and there is probably someone you know with this condition.
Individuals with this condition usually have behaviour that is not easy for others to understand. They act as though they are in their own world and have problems forming relationships with anyone. They often have very few school friends and learn to rely on their own company. They might appear as though they have no emotions or feelings for others, but this is part of the condition. People with Aspergers usually see things in black or white with no in between.
People with Aspergers syndrome are often victim to bullies at school due to them being a little different. Bullies find them an easy prey and do not understand their behaviour. People with this condition may act violently if they are misunderstood or react in unpredictable ways.
People with this condition feel happier on their own than with others for company. Aspergers syndrome is classified as being on the Autistic spectrum. Often people with Aspergers get wrongly diagnosed with Autism although Aspergers is different.
Professionals sometimes diagnose the wrong condition for Aspergers because it is such a tricky condition to diagnose. As a child develops and grows older it is easier to diagnose. It is whilst a child is young that it is not so easy to diagnose. As they get older they might not meet milestones compared with other children.
Some people with this disorder also have varying degrees of retardation. The condition has a sliding scale with the worse case scenario on one end and the very mild case on the other. Some people cannot read, write or speak depending on the severity of the condition. However some people live good lives with this condition and are able to maintain work.
At the severest end of the scale people suffering from Aspergers will sit still for long periods of time in a trance kind of state, they will rock, make noises, flap hands and make repetitive movements. Aspergers affects people of all ages although it usually starts in childhood. Sufferers get trapped in a world of their own where they suffer speech problems and other symptoms. It is a complicated disorder that displays itself differently in each individual suffering from it.
Children might be quite obsessive in their behaviour and might have an issue with germs or have phobias. They might not understand rules and question why they are there. Rules might be looked upon as being silly and pointless. A child with Aspergers lives in a world where rules have no place and they do not cope well with authority. They like routine and if this is disrupted then they might react aggressively.
It’s not unusual to find Aspergers syndrome in people with above average Intelligence Quotient’s.
